matéria leve organizes a study group that attends a series of performances presented during a festival. Based on the premise that stage works are, above all, invitations to particular states of attention, the group examines the relational architectures that frame them, enabling unique modes of seeing and listening that emerge within these ephemeral territories.
The study group approaches the question of where a performance takes place, drawing on the notion of place as something that emerges in the space between material and affective dimensions. It proposes a collective and experimental pedagogical approach, exploring “place” as a polyphonic territory that works as an invitation. 

Since 2023, we have organized these study groups annually at the Alkantara Festival (Lisbon, Portugal). We have also developed them in the context of FIDCU (Montevideo, Uruguay), Graner (Barcelona, Spain), and the Festival Almost Summer at Kunstencentrum BUDA (Kortrijk, Belgium). We are open to developing this practice in other contexts, festival or theatre programmes.
