Lighting designers meeting
On 1 and 2 August 2025, matéria leve promoted the first meeting among colleagues in the field to share experiences, artistic practices and desires around the profession, reflect on working conditions in the local context and their challenges, create alliances for possible collaborations and strengthen the network.
The Lighting Designers Meeting 2025 was open to cis women, trans, and non-binary people who work professionally as stage lighting designers in Portugal.

Because matéria leve seeks to provide a space to build peer networks and professional connections, we have created an online database and invite all stage lighting professionals working in Portugal or with professional ties to Portugal, at any stage of their careers, to join this network.
The database aims to facilitate connections among colleagues, foster new dialogues, and strengthen professional and supportive networks within the field.
Upon request, it can also be shared with artistic teams, organizations, and institutions seeking lighting designers and other lighting professionals.
