matéria leve has organized several technical and research residencies, each culminating in a public sharing through which we present our ongoing research to an audience.

Throughout these residencies, we continue the collective development of our work on gestures of light: activations of devices through which we explore lighting as a relational practice, capable of generating states of attention that open us to encounter.

These residencies have taken place at O Espaço do Tempo (Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal), Espaço Alkantara (Lisbon, Portugal), Graner (Barcelona, Spain), and Kunstencentrum BUDA (Kortrijk, Belgium).
